The Mariinsky Theatre Will Hold Free Concerts

The Mariinsky Theatre Will Hold Free Concerts

Now you can enjoy ballet, classical works and operatic arias under the roof of the chamber halls in the new Mariinsky Theatre of St. Petersburg. Residents and visitors can attend these spectacular shows for free, under the "Open Wednesday” program.

The Mariinsky Theatre recently opened a four-chamber hall, named in honor of the great composers - Mussorgsky, Prokofiev, Stravinsky and Shchedrin.

The shows are always sure to put on a great performance and the new Mariinsky chamber: for example, the hall is perfect for Prokofiev piano performances due to its geometry, but also because it is great for the grand Steinway & Sons piano, in which the value reaches seven million rubles. The Shchedrin Hall, in turn, is designed for one-act ballets and performance of opera arias.

The administration of the Mariinsky Theater announced the launch of the project "Open Wednesdays" in which every Wednesday under the roof chamber halls, will give free concerts for everyone.

There is not much more known about the project at this time. It is only known for sure that the concerts will be free and on Wednesdays.
